konturen [2019]

The theme "Konturen", contours, was chosen as the portfolio assignment for the UdK. I made a leporello, an accordion booklet. The outline that I have decided to represent is that of the Ring Bahn in Berlin, a train line that circumscribes the innermost part of the city. For each stop I took a photo (on the right page), of which I then wrote the name (on the left page) and in the center of each double page I played with transparent paper. On the latter I drew the piece of the map on which the stop is located. Being on transparent paper, the lines interact with the photos and writings. Furthermore, the leporello shape allows you to fully open the book, and the first page coincides with the last one to emphasize the circularity of the train's path and the contour it creates.
